





![]() Doug grew up outside of Philadelphia, PA and has been playing drums for twenty five years and teaching for eight. He began playing drums at age nine and started playing professionally at age fifteen. He says "whether I'm teaching or playing a live gig there is always something to be learned from the experience". Some teachers who helped him along the way were Tony Vigilante, Tom Poitras and all the staff at the Drummers Collective 97'. Doug's influences include Jeff Povcaro, Steve Gadd, John Bonham, Ginger Baker, Bernard Perdie, Tony Williams and Mickey Roker. Doug has been a long standing member of the Deb Callahan Band and says the experience has been great. A highlight for him was playing at the Monterey Blues Festival in 2005 and he is looking forward to the next recording. His gear consists of DW drums, Ludwig snares and Paiste cymbals. |
